Hi! I'm Tori, a forward-thinking conservation specialist with a diverse background. I have my Masters in Environmental Science with a focuses on Ecosystem Science and Management, Sustainable Systems, and Behavior, Education, and Communication. I have leadership and project management experience from my work with the Pierella Rainforest Reclamation Project as their Carbon Research Lead. I am also a ISA Certified Arborist and have many years of experience in tree healthcare and urban foresty.

I have experience in research, both in a consulting capacity for Coopedota R.L and as the Primary Research Lead for the Pierella Rainforest Reclamation Project. I have a background in marketing and business, having earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing/Advertising and a Bachelors of Arts in Honors Communication Studies. I put these skills to use as a Graduate Student Instructor and while working in the recruitment department at Green Cross.
In my free time, I enjoy leading and organizing events that promote problem-solving, leadership, and teamwork, and I have a love for photography. I believe that my diverse background and experiences have prepared me for a successful career in the environmental field and I am eager to continue learning and making a positive impact.

Where Research
meets Passion
I have a strong background in research and data analysis, with a focus on environmental and sustainability issues. My work experience includes being a Research Consultant for Coopedota R.L in 2021-2022, where I conducted a survey of shade biomass in coffee production areas in Costa Rica and estimated the impact of gasification technology on the client’s carbon accounting. I also interviewed local Co-Op members and advised the client on creating a new certification process. Currently, I am the Primary Research Lead for the Pierella Rainforest Reclamation Project, where I co-lead the reforestation of 1.5 hectares and evaluate and measure the carbon storage of secondary rainforest. In addition, I have also worked as a Research Assistant for the Department of Communication at Wayne State University, where I facilitated and transcribed interviews for a study on social dynamics during the use of dating applications.
